Anke De Mondt

Career: BBC Boom (Belgium-D1, 1999-2001), Villeneuve-d'Ascq (France-LFB, 2001-03), Las Palmas (Spain-LFB, 2003-04), Extrugasa Vilagarcia (Spain-LFB, 2004-05), Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (Spain-LFB, 2005-07), Perfumia Salamanca (Spain-LFB, 2007-2008)

The past two seasons, Anke De Mondt averaged14.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game and was a key player for her club side, Burgos. The Spanish club made the playoffs for the first time in their history and she is now looking for a new experience for next season as she signed with Salamanca, the Spanish runner-up to Valencia. De Mondt, 27, is also going to play in the EuroLeague Women with her new team. It is the second time that the shooting guard will play on the European scene after doing so with Las Palmas three years ago. She still holds the record for free-throw percentage in Spanish competition at 93.1 % (54-of-58) beating the previous record of the Australian Allison Tranquilli.  De Mondt will play in her second EuroBasket Women this summer after averaging 9.1 points per game at Greece 2003. She has had to adapt her game to Buffard’s coaching style but appears to be making the transition well.
