4. Sead Sehovic (KK Buducnost)
Sead Sehovic seems to be the spark plug that Szolnoki needed after their rough start in the Adriatic League

Szolnoki Olaj recently signed Sead Sehovic in the hope he'd inject some life into the team and already, the 1.96m Montenegrin is providing a spark.

Sehovic hit a couple of shots from long range and finished with 15 points as the Hungarian team won for the second time in the Adriatic League, beating KK Split 75-67.

Ernests Kalve also had 15 points and Balazs Simon weighed in with 13 and five assists as Szolnoki improved to 2-4 on the young season.

"Most of all, we played excellent defense and allowed them to score just 15 and 12 points in the first two quarters," Szolnoki coach Peter Por said.

"It was a typical Adriatic League game," Szolnoki big man Marton Bader said.

"Split is a good and experienced team. We started the game very well and showed everyone that we deserve our place in this league."

Szolnoki are one of the sides in the EuroChallenge taking part in the Adriatic League.

The other is KRKA Novo Mesto, the EuroChallenge winners in 2011.

They slumped to a 66-51 defeat to Buducnost Podgorica.

The Montenegrin outfit stormed into a 23-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

Aleksander Sekulić, the coach of KRKA, was very disappointed with his team's effort.

"We started too soft," he said.

"In addition, Budućnost hit some threes in the first half of difficult situations and in the last seconds of their offenses, which gave them confidence."

There were contrasting results for Germany's EuroChallenge sides.

EWE Baskets Oldenburg are flying high after edging New Yorker Phantoms, 60-59.

Former Germany international Konrad Wysocki made a shot with three seconds to play to give his team the narrow win.

Coach Sebastian Machowski was all smiles after his side improved to 5-1 in the BBL with the victory.

"We saw a very exciting game," Machowski said.

"After the narrow defeat against Bremerhaven, I am delighted with this victory, of course, even more so.

"We played on the offense in parts well and I hope that we can improve.

"I am satisfied with the defense although we made a few mistakes that allowed Braunschweig to have some easy points."

The other EuroChallenge side, Telekom Baskets Bonn, crashed to a 78-53 defeat to Frankfurt Skyliners.
