Career: BG Fryshuset (Sweden-BasketEttan, 2006-07), 08 Stockholm (Sweden-Damligan, 2007-11), BK Imos Brno (Czech Republic-ZBL, 2011-13)
Rarely has there been such a buzz about a young Swedish player. Her accomplishments and potential were taken to new heights when she was not only handed a spot with EuroLeague Women side BK Imos Brno, but was also drafted in the 2012 WNBA by the Los Angeles Sparks. That sent her profile into orbit and whilst she played at the U20 European Championship last year, she only featured for the senior team for four minutes during qualifying. She is incredibly athletic and has matured into a leader of a EuroLeague Women team playing at the highest level. Perhaps handling the ball more than she needs to, Abdi is best when focusing on forward assignments. Whether it is slashing to the hoop, taking a player off the dribble or fronting up and making jump-shots. She is a multi-talented player, has a terrific attitude to the game and is someone who could help boost interest in Sweden.
