Spartak Hold Off Brno To Win Second Straight Title

Spartak Moscow Region survived a furious fight-back from hosts Gambrinus Brno on Sunday to capture the EuroLeague Women title for the second time in a row.

Lauren Jackson scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Spartak to a 75-60 triumph. The Australia superstar, who had 35 in Spartak's semi-final success against Ekaterinburg, was named Final Four MVP.

Brno Ready to 'Fight’ Spartak For Title

Gambrinus Brno coach Jan Bobrovsky and his players lived to fight another day after a stunning overtime victory against Bourges in Friday's second game at the EuroLeague Women Final Four.

The Czech giants won 90-81 and are now just one victory away from a second European title in three years, but they will have to overcome defending champions Spartak Moscow Region on Sunday.

Refuse-To-Lose Brno Beat Bourges In OT

Gambrinus Brno rose from the dead to force overtime and then prevailed 90-81 over Bourges in the second semi-final at the EuroLeague Women Final Four.

The triumph means Brno will now take on Spartak Moscow Region in the title game on Sunday.
