Gambrinus Sika Brno coach Jan Bobrovsky gave a glowing assessment of his team's performance in their 92-58 win at USO Mondeville Basket.
The triumph completed a two-game sweep of Mondeville and put the Czech giants, who were runners-up to Volgaburmash last season in the EuroLeague Women, into the quarter-finals.
Bobrovsky said: "We started very well when we took a 20-point advantage early, and we controlled the game in the first half except for a couple of minutes at the end when the home team cut our lead to 15 points.
"But we had very good three-point shooting and that was the most important reason of our big lead."
Indeed, Gambrinus made five shots from the arc in the first half and were 11 of 15 for the game.
"We were much better in the second half as well when my players won very good positions for shooting," Bobrovsky continued.
"Some of our actions on offence were like in training - very nice and easy.
On the other hand, we played well on defense and the home team did not have good positions for shooting.
"I am fully satisfied. Our performance has increased the confidence of my players before the quarter-final for sure." |
