The center has been knocking on the door of senior team selection for a major tournament for a number of years, but has struggled to get herself a spot in what is a deep and competitive Czech frontcourt rotation. Stepanova had been hoping to finally get the nod on French soil in 2013, where she had just spent her first season playing outside of her homeland with Basket Landes. But the call never came and she is still waiting. However after some withdrawals from the frontcourt, a gap has opened up under the basket and the 27-year-old is ready to plug the gap. She is a powerful player in the paint,, and has a relatively deep shooting range. She hustles hard and can call upon some experience in a Czech vest from time at the World University Games. She has impressed in EuroCup Women and will remain in the LFB for a fourth consecutive year after signing for Toulouse next season.
