Pavel Houska is another element of the veteran frontline that the Czech team has built around its young guns. A former MVP in the Czech NBL, having won the award while at Decin in 2011, the steely-eyed forward is an enthusiastic banger down in the post, never backing down from a physical challenge. He was instrumental in helping Czech Republic top their Division B group in 2011 (10.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game). He featured for the Czech U20 team in 2004 but, more importantly, was a key member of the team that represented Czech Republic at the 2005 and 2007 World University Games. Averaged over 13 points in each of his last four seasons with Decin (2008-through-2012) before making the move to Nymburk, where he has carved out a valuable reserve role averaging 8 points per game in the Czech NBL league during 2014-15.
