There were no suprises in the opening contest following the rest day in Bursa on Tuesday as Czech Republic cruised to an easy win against Germany, 76-50.
The Germans were always going to have their work cut out against a Czech Republic side whose goal is to make the final, a feat they achieved in 2003 when they won the silver.
It took Czech Republic just over 2 minutes to establish a 4-point lead, and by the end of the first quarter they were already ahead by double digits, 24-11.
It was plain sailing the rest of the way for Czech Republic, as Germany failed to threaten.
Germany Head Coach Olaf Stolz will have been dissapointed with what was another poor shooting performance from his side.
The Germans made just 26% of their 2-point field goal attempts, 13/50.
Czech Republic Head Coach Jan Bobrovsky was able to give all 12 of his players time on the court.
Back-up point guard Michaela Uhrová responded with 12 points in 11 minutes. High-scoring forward Eva Vitecková also found her shooting touch as she tallied 16 points, including 4/4 from the three-point line.
Czech Republic will look to take a 100% record into the quarter-finals as they take on Latvia in their final preliminary round game on Wednesday.
