Turkey had entered the Qualifying Round of the U16 European Championship Women with two wins under their belt and in Group F action against the Czech Republic they added victory number three, 67-55.

The Czechs rebounded better but the Turkish were capable to score 19 points out of the opponent's turnovers which provided a big lift for them.

Doga Comba led the winning side with 14 points. The Czech Republic had three players that marked 12 points but could not use their advantage on the glass (54-44 in rebounding) to get away with a win.

The Czechs were also off to a slow start. Turkey took advantage of that and quickly went up by eight points. They seemed to really bother the opponents with their uptempo style of play (5-13). The Czechs recovered however and got close again (16-18).

Overall Turkey played a better first half. Outscoring the Czechs 20-13 in the second quarter they made it a nine point game (29-38) at halftime.

In the second half the Turkish continued to control the pace of the game. Fastbreak points as well as points in the paint added to their lead. Meanwhile the Czechs struggled to make their shots (only 25.3 percent from the field throughout the game). After three quarters Turkey's lead increased into double digits (41-54).

In the fourth quarter they made sure of holding on to the win.
