| Isabella Slim led the Netherlands to a second consecutive victory with 20 points and eight rebounds |
Isabella Slim continues to headline for the Netherlands after another all-action display provided the main thrust for a 63-47 success against Slovak Republic on day two of the U18 European Championship Women.
The versatile forward drained 20 points and added eight rebounds to take the Dutch to two wins in Group C, much to the delight of their noisy travelling supporters.
Also central to the victory was a defence which proved difficult for the Slovak Republic team to break down.
As hard as they tried, the Slovakians failed to light it up from downtown, which was essential to keep pace with their opponent.
Once the Netherlands finished the opening quarter with a 9-2 run, they always held the upper hand and especially when Slim showed she also has range, by converting a three-pointer to make it 35-17 late in the second quarter.
The Slovak Republic tried to reduce the gap when they stepped out in the second half but with the talented Barbora Balintova having an off night from the perimeter, they laboured offensively.
Consequently the Netherlands breezed to a comfortable win, helped by a particualarly nice cameo from centre Emese Hof who had nine points and eight rebounds.
