Slovakia Stay Up, Lithuania Go Down

Slovakia easily defeated Lithuania, 65-46, to assure that they will remain in Division A of the U18 European Championship Women for another year.

In contrast, the result confirmed that Lithuania cannot avoid relegation anymore and will join Ukraine in Division B next year.

The Slovaks increased their lead constantly throughout the game, even if by only small increments.

They were leading by 10 at halftime, 25-35, and started the second half with an 11-1 run, and the game was pretty much over.

Angelika Slamova led her team with 19 points, five rebounds, three assists, four rebounds and two blocks in an impressive all-around performance.

With her performance she consolidated her position in the top 10 for scoring, and now has 14.0 points per game.

Ieva Preskienyte had a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds for Lithuania.
