 Point guard Luke Nelson had 12 points Wednesday to help England remain the only unbeaten team in Sarajevo after the opening day of the Second Round

England were the only team to keep their unbeaten run alive at the U18 European Championship Division B in Sarajevo after the opening day of the Second Round.

With the Czech Republic, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina suffering defeat, England flew solo with a 2-0 record in the Second Round, crushing Estonia 73-49 to take a huge step towards the Semi-Finals.

An outstanding second quarter at both ends of the court made the difference, with England outscoring their opponents 20-4, scoring the first 16 points of the period to go 31-16 up on a Tamas Okros free throw.

Luke Nelson and Tyrell Isaacs led England with 12 points each, while Kingsley Okoroh added 10 with 12 rebounds.

England sit top of Group E while the Czechs are second after losing 77-70 to an Israel team inspired by the outstanding Egor Koulechov.

The 1.94m small forward came up with 33 points and five rebounds to lead his team to victory.

Karel Ausprunk had 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Czechs.

England close group play against the Czechs on Thursday.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's unbeaten run here came to an end as their rally fell short in an 86-84 loss to Finland.

The tournament hosts came from six points down midway through the fourth quarter to twice lead by two, the second time seeing them up 79-77 with 1:24 to go, but big plays from Julius Rajala and Oskar Michelson got Finland the win.

All four teams in Group F now have a 1-1 record after Belgium topped Montenegro 82-62 behind 22 points from Naim El Khounchar.

Bosnia and Herzegovia will face Montenegro and Belgium tackle Finland in the group finales tomorrow.


CLASSIFICATION ROUNDS

In the Classification Round for 9th to 16th Place, Hungary, Austria and Portugal all improved to 2-0 with wins.

Peter Jakab scored 16 points to lead Hungary to a 71-38 win over the Slovak Republic while 20 points and eight assists from Valentin Bauer inspired Austria in an 80-50 win over Romania in Group G.

Andre Miguens had 17 points as Portugal topped Sweden 60-48 in Group H.

The group's other game saw the Netherlands defeat Iceland, 70-63, behind 25 points from Mike Schilder, who added seven rebounds and four assists.

Further down the ladder, Luxembourg topped Scotland 75-61 in Group I, and Georgia beat Switzerland 95-73 in Group J, in the Classification Round for 17th to 22nd Place.
