U16 WOMEN

The Slovakian team did not need to score many points to leave Greece behind, clinching their first win in the U16 European Championship Women, 44-35.

Both teams were in an urge to win after defeats on Day One, and the anxiety dominated the match with the lowest score so far in the tournament.

The Slovak Republic had big difficulties to get good shooting opportunities.

The Greek team could not find their way to the basket either, despite Vasiliki Karambatsa dominating the boards, grabbing 19 rebounds to go along with seven points.

For the Slovakian team, forward Veronika Remenarova summed up a double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds, having her main helper in Katarina Urbaniova, who dished out five assists.

The Slovak Republic return in the Group B accounts and meet Russia on the last day of the Preliminary Round.
