World Cup? What World Cup?

Nearly half a million people in Armenia tuned in to see their national team's 71-64 win over Moldova on Tuesday at the European Championship for Women Division C taking place in Yerevan.

The end of the game, broadcast on Armenian National Television, was preempted in favor of the Paraguay vs. Japan World Cup contest, but the station received so many complaints they were forced to replay the basketball game in its entirety later in the evening.

Armenia won the game 71-64 in front of a capacity crowd of 1,300 fans.

Armenia, a country of just over three million people, has gone crazy for their national team, packing the arena for all of their games.

They face Andorra in their final group game on Wednesday.
