While Vlado Ilievski didn't feature last summer during the Qualifying Round, he is expected to return to action at EuroBasket 2011 and will hope to have the same kind of influence as during the previous tournament when he shot over 60% from inside. While his outside shot deserted him, he was still instrumental in the relative success of FYR of Macedonia and the 31-year-old will be an influential player if he returns alongside the prolific McCalebb in the backcourt. Ilievski isn't a flashy player who catches the eye but he is hugely effective and consistent in what he does. With the experience of playing regularly in top domestic leagues such as Italy and Spain as well as Euroleague, where he averaged almost 13 points and 4 assists per game last season with Union Olimpija, his scoring ability and on-court vision will be huge strengths for his team. If he can get his outside game going as well it could be happy days indeed for FYR of Macedonia. Ilievski originally played at his first EuroBasket tournament way back in 1999 as a teenager.
