Slavica Dimovska and her teammates gave the home crowd reason to cheer after F.Y.R. of Macedonia's semi-final triumph

F.Y.R. of Macedonia beat Scotland and Austria defeated Malta on Semi-Finals day at the European Championship Small Countries Women.

In the first semi, F.Y.R. of Macedonia took complete control of proceedings when they outscored Scotland 25-9 in the second quarter and went to the changing rooms in front, 41-31.

Edina Musa had 10 of her 12 points at the break for F.Y.R. of Macedonia.

Lidija Milkova's team stayed comfortably ahead for the remainder of the contest to win 80-61.

Monika Gavriloska finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds for F.Y.R. of Macedonia.

In the other Semi-Final, the Austrians hit back from a 22-15 first-quarter deficit to prevail, 61-53.

Nina Suritsch scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Austrians, who took the lead for good at the end of the first half.

Malta fell behind by 14 points in the third quarter but never gave up and reduced the deficit to 51-49 with a Josephine Grima lay-up early in the fourth quarter.

Austria replied with 10 unanswered points to take command for good.

Also on Saturday were the Classification Games for 5th to 8th Place and in those, Gibraltar edged Azerbaijan, 77-76, and Wales beat Moldova, 47-39.

For Gibraltar, Linaya Ocana hit two game-winning free-throws with seven seconds remaining.

Joelle Moreno led the team with 20 points and Alexandra Mauro added 17.

The Gibraltar shooting guard, Zainya Reyes, also excelled with 11 points, six assists and nine rebounds.

Dina Ulyanova poured in 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in defeat.

In Wales' victory, Jo Raper had 14 points and 16 rebounds and Rebecca Short added nine points and 10 boards.
