Sweden Celebrate Semi-Final Qualification

Swedish Basketball is on the rise. That's the feeling among the supporters, players and coaching staff at the Umcor U18 Europen Championship Women as the team celebrated an 82-69 victory over Bulgaria.

The win not only qualifies Sweden for Saturday's final, but guarantees a berth at next year's FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.

Lithuania Still In The Hunt

Lithuania kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive at the Umcor European Championship U18 Women in Tenerife on Wednesday with an 83-60 win against Bulgaria.

After an anaemic shooting display against Sweden on Tuesday (20% from the  field), the Lithuanians rediscovered their touch against Bulgaria, netting 50% from two-point range and 81% from the free throw line.

Maria Tzankova buried a last-gasp three-pointer at the Umcor U18 European Championship Women in Tenerife on Friday to send Bulgaria into the quarter-final round.

It was a cruel defeat for Poland, who will go to the classification round and can finish no higher than eighth in the tournament.
