Bulgaria coach Petko Marinov was in despondent mood after seeing his side lose their fourth straight EuroBasket Women qualifier at the hands of Belarus, describing himself as "the worst possible coach."
Bulgaria last won the European title in 1951 and finished third as recent as 1989, but there were no indications on Saturday in their 74-56 setback in Minsk they could be contending for a crown any time soon.
It did not help that Marinov was missing star players in his side.
He said: "Now I'm certain that I was the the worst possible choice for a coach of the national team at this moment.
"My idea was to make a complete change to the team, but it didn't materialise.
"I think that perhaps rules should be introduced that force players to participate in the national team."
Bulgaria take on Greece on Wednesday in Pravets in their fifth qualifier.
