Romania and Germany both improve to 2-0 in the relegation round of the U20 European Championship for Women with wins over Sweden and Bulgaria, respectively.

Elisabeth Pavel had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Gabriela Munteanu added 17 points in Romania's 67-50 victory over Sweden. Stephanie Wagner scored 18 points and Anna-Lisa Rexroth hit for 14 in Germany's 70-58 win against Bulgaria.

Romania used an 11-2 run midway through the first quarter to jump ahead by 12 points. And they used an 13-0 surge in the second period to push the margin to 19 points.

The Swedes, who dropped to 0-2 despite 18 and eight rebounds from Danielle Hamilton, were simply overpowered and could not cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the game.

Bulgaria meanwhile jumped ahead 16-4 but a 27-7 run by Germany laid the groundwork for a solid victory.

Antoniya Zagorova's 18 points and eight rebounds were not enough to keep Bulgaria from dropping to 0-2.
