Serbia remained alive for a chance to possibly defend their U19 FIBA World Championship title by knocking off Russia 85-63 in the 5th-8th place games which can eventually lead to a spot in the U19 Worlds.
Bojan Subotic scored 22 points to lead the Serbs, who will play Spain for fifth place. Spain overcame Latvia 107-91 with Alberto Jodar scoring 21 points and Jorge Santana had 20.
Latvia will face Russia for seven place.
Turkey will play against Israel for ninth place after beating Italy 80-73 on the strength of 18 points from Melih Mahmutoglu while Enes Kanter added 11 points and 22 rebounds.
Israel beat Ukraine 76-75 as Carmel Bouchman made a lay-up with eight seconds left. Tamir Ariely and Yotam Shiran both scored 16 points in the win.
Ukraine and Italy will face off on Sunday for 11th place.
Bulgaria, Germany Survive But Belgium, Estonia Are Relegated
Germany meanwhile secured their place in Division A at the U18 European Championship Men thanks to an 87-73 victory over Bulgaria, who also will play in the top flight next summer despite the loss.
Both countries finished the Classification Round Group G at 2-1 and Belgium knocked off Estonia 84-70 to force a three-way tie atop the standings. But Bulgaria and Germany finished one-two in point differential among the three teams.
Maurice Stuckey tallied 25 points while Maik Zirbes added 20 and Simon Schmitz had 15 points and seven assists for Kay Bluemel's Germans.
Bulgaria were led by 19 points each from Bozhidar Avramov and Aleksandar Yanev.
Thomas De Thaey scored 25 points and Quentin Serron had 23 in Belgium's win over Estonia, who finished the tournament without a victory and will join Belgium in Division B next summer.
