Kozachka-ZALK 89 Dynamo Kursk 66

Despite of the fact that Kozachka's starting five was a backbone of the Ukrainian national team during the recent European Championship, the guests never gave up. Until the 8th minute of the first quater they even led. At that point, the best scorer was Dynamo's Oxana Stavyts'ka.

After a time-out taken by Kozachka's head coach Yuriy Veligura things changed, though.

I'm satisfied with the result, not with the performance

With 2:45 minutes left in the first quarter they took the lead for good. At the end of the first quarter the score was 25-18.

The second quarter saw a superb performance of Kozachka's Olena Fen'ko, who was mainly responsible for Kozachka extending the lead up to 17 points. She finished the game with 19 points and was almost perfect from the field (6/7) and 6/6 from the free throw line.

At halftime Kozachka had a 15-point advantage, 52-37.

In the third quarter Dynamo came back into the game, coming as close as 10 points with 2 minutes to go.

Dynamo didn't give up but finally Kozachka was too strong.

Game MVP: Olena Fen'ko.

Yuriy Veligura, Head Coach, Kozachka-ZALK:
"I'm satisfied with the result, not with the performance. All in all we played poorly, especially our centers. The key players did many mistakes in defence.

"Our goal is still to qualify for the next round."

Nataliya Kuzmichova, player, Kozachka-ZALK:
"We feel to have enough strength to win this group."
