Slovakia sharpshooter Ivana Jalcova broke a finger on her left hand in Thursday's 65-56 victory over Poland and has been lost for the remainder of the EuroBasket Women.

Jalcova was pivotal coming off the bench in the win over the Poles, scoring six consecutive points late in the third quarter to put the Slovakians in front for good.

"That's sport," Jalcova said.

"This year wasn't very happy for me concerning injuries. I'm done with injuries, now."

Jalcova only recently recovered from a knee injury that sidelined her for most of last season with Maxima Broker Kosice.

"Now that I'm not able to play, I'll root for the girls from the bench and give as much support as possible," Jalcova said.

Slovakia won two of three games and finished second to Spain in Group A, which was played in Liepaja.

Thursday's triumph over Poland has left the Slovakians third in Group E with five points behind the Latvians and Spain (6pts each).

The top four sides by the end of Qualifying Round play will advance to the Quarter-Finals.
