Sam Van Rossom is an intelligent playmaker with great fundamentals and an excellent understanding of the game. His on court IQ and composure make him the ideal man to pull the strings for Belgium in the backcourt. There isn't anything too spectacular about his game since he is neither particularly athletic not prone to flashy moves. Instead he is a rock for his team who just gets on with the task of getting the ball efficiently to his open team-mates and stepping up his own scoring when required. He is consistent from downtown, handles the ball well and recognises opportunities early which gives him an edge. While not quite as strong defensively, he still manages to do a reasonable job and is turning into everything he promised during a stand-out youth career for his country. He has won titles in Belgium as well as playing in Italy and also Spain where he played last season with CAI Zaragoa.
