The French U16 Women's team have begun a positive build-up to this summer's European Championship in Bulgaria, winning a four-team tournament in Luxembourg.

The inaugural U16 Women Dussmann Trophy took place from 18th-20th May in Mersch, Luxembourg.

Asides from France and Luxembourg, the tournament also involved teams from Belgium and Slovakia.

All games in the tournament were competitive, with the only team not currently competing in Division A at European level, Luxembourg, pulling off the biggest upset by defeating last season's Division A U16 European Championship Women semi-finalists, Belgium, 49-41.

France ended as the only undefeated team, claiming a maximum six points. The other three teams each sported a two-win, one-loss record, but on account of their superior points differential Luxembourg finished second. Slovakia was third and Belgium fourth.

All results:

Belgium vs. France 46 - 63
Slovakia vs. Luxembourg 54 - 50

France vs. Slovakia 67 - 59
Luxembourg vs. Belgium 49 - 41

Slovakia vs. Belgium 54 - 59
France vs. Luxembourg 66 - 49
