Russia was stronger than Belgium when two giants met at the U16 European Championship Women to decide the winner of Group E.
Edging the Belgians, 57-44, the Russians are the only team that is still undefeated in this tournament.
Kyara Linskens had a hard time this afternoon, having to face the most dominating frontcourt of the competition.
She stood bravely, securing 14 points and 10 rebounds, but it was less than needed to win.
Russia opted to rotate Ksenia Levchenko and Olga Orlova as point guards, constantly feeding open teammates.
The Belgian defence put pressure on Russia, but Anastasia Boroyvykh, Zhosselina Maiga and Svetlana Boykova scored 13, 12 and 11 points respectively to hand Belgium their first loss.
The Russians also got help from the bench players, who contributed 21 points, while Belgium was only able to get 10 from their second unit.
Both teams left Generali Arena with high ambitions in this tournament.
Russia will play the Czech Republic in the Quarter-Finals on Friday, while Belgium's opponent is still undisclosed.
