As a veteran guard who has played with almost all of the top Turkish clubs, Nilay Kartaltepe or Nilay Yiğit, as she wass known before marriage, continues to bring a wealth of experience to the National Team where she has been almost ever present for years. She has always had a habit of recording some impressive scores and production just when it is needed, while her hard-nosed defence and ball pressure can be vital too. With quick hands, an ability to anticipate the moves of opposing guards and her effectiveness when double-teaming, she is the kind of player a coach just loves to utilize to put the shackles on opponents. In addition, she is known for her ferocious competitiveness.
