Ramla Do The Double Over Gran Canaria

Shiran Zairy nailed a late three-pointer and Laine Selwyn iced the game from the free-throw line as Elitzur Ramla booked their place in the Semi-Finals of the EuroCup Women with a 76-72 road win over Gran Canaria.

Zairy's long-range effort made it 75-68 with a minute to go, while Selwyn made sure after Nicole Michael's jump-shot had put the hosts back within reach.

Gran Canaria had cut an eight point deficit all the way back to one in the fourth quarter, but suffered frustration as they could not get over the hump to win on the night.

Michael's jumpshot had made it 62-61 to the visitors with 6:08 to go while a Michael lay-up again made it a one-point game, 67-66, with 3:13 to go.

But then Tanasha Wright's three-pointer was followed by Le'Coe Willingham's jump-shot as Elitzur took control.

Willingham led Elitzur with 16 points while Wright had 14 and Shay Doron 13.

Gran Canaria wasted 24 points from Michael and 18 from Kathrin Ress.

Elitzur had romped to a 78-54 win in the opening leg.
