Career: Syracuse (USA-NCAA, 2005-08), Arras (France-LFB, 2008-09), Szeviep Szeged (Hungary-A, 2009-10), Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (France-LFB, 2010-11), Atletico Faenza (Italy-A1, 2010-11)
Having started playing in Kaunas at Merkurijus basketball school before heading to the NCAA, Sipaviciute has established herself as very much a role player for the National Team and someone capable of delivering some really nice cameos when required. She was impressively efficient during the Qualifying Round last summer and showcased why she is an important element of the team. After her NCAA career with Syracuse, she also now has a couple of seasons of EuroLeague Women basketball under her belt as well as experience of playing in top European leagues in both France and Italy. Having been replaced at Tarbes mid-season, she moved to Italy and regained her confidence quickly to produce some nice numbers with some great work inside the paint and a real boost on the defensive end of the court where she came up with plenty of steals. Her good form might persuade Coach Paulauskas to give her more court time. |
