Beretta-Famila Schio have made two signings to strengthen their frontcourt and make the Italian giants one of the leading clubs in next season's EuroLeague Women.
The club has signed France's EuroBasket 2009 champion Isabelle Yacoubou-Dehoui and also swooped for Janel McCarville - one of the key figures in Spartak Moscow Region's title run last season.
Yacoubou averaged 9.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for Tarbes in the EuroLeague Women last season while in France, she was instrumental in her club winning the league title.
McCarville was supposed to be with CSKA Moscow last year before they disbanded and Spartak wisely scooped her up.
She added toughness on defense and timely offense, especially in the EuroLeague Women Final triumph over Ros Casares.
"I think that a player like McCarville is able to unbalance any team," said Schio's general director, Paolo De Angelis.
"I don't believe I am exaggerating when I say that she is among the two or three strongest players ever to arrive at Schio in its 37-year history.
"Her CV (curriculum vitae) and her stats are not sufficient to explain her defense and her importance in team play that make her an above average player.
"The player had had better offers from big name clubs but she chose us."
With regards to captain Elisabetta Moro, Schio says she is staying put.
"Our captain will play with us next season," De Angelis said.
"We want to have a roster of 10 players without seeing a difference between those that come off the bench and those that start.
"We need every single player to contribute."
