Anthony King, with 12 points, was one of four Artland Dragons players in double digits in their road win over S.Oliver Baskets

Germany's EuroChallenge sides swept all before them in the BEKO BBL at the weekend.

High-flying Artland Dragons won at S.Oliver Baskets while EWE Baskets prevailed at Phoenix Hagen and Telekom Baskets Bonn romped at home over BBC Bayreuth.

Artland, who are third in the German top flight and already in the EuroChallenge Quarter-Finals with four wins in as many Last 16 games, built a big early lead but had to hold on in the fourth quarter to beat S.Oliver Baskets in Wurzburg, 72-68.

Anthony King, Nathan Peavy and Bryan Bailey each had 12 points while Darren Fenn contributed 10.

Artland out-rebounded the home side, 37-27.

"We started very well, with a good focus on defense and in attack, moving the ball very unselfishly," Dragons coach Stefan Koch said.

"We were on top 28-10, 12 minutes into the game.

"Then we had too many turnovers, which were certainly due to the good Würzburg defense, but also resulted from our own negligence.

"Nevertheless, I am satisfied that we have won this game because this is a difficult place to play where other teams have lost.

Chris Kramer had 21 points for Wurzburg and led their fight back.

They closed the gap to 53-51 early in the fourth quarter.

On Artland's next possession, Dragons big man Peavy grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled while attempting a follow-up.

He sank two free-throws to extend the lead back to four.

The hosts clawed to within three on two more occasions but got no closer.

John Patrick, the coach of Gottingen's 2010 EuroChallenge winning side, is now the boss of the Wurzburg team.

"Congratulations to Stefan Koch and the Artland Dragons, they deserved to win," he said.

"We had prepared ourselves for an opponent that is very deep at all positions.

"Artland played in the first half with more energy than we did.

"In the second quarter we were behind by 18 points and this hole was too big to come back against such a strong team.

"In the second half we showed character and never gave up."
