| 01.02.2012 EUROCHALLENGE | | Carlos Arroyo will miss tonight's game at Pardubice but his injury is not serious and he could be back in action at the weekend |
Carlos Arroyo will not play for Besiktas in Wednesday night's EuroChallenge Last 16 game at BK Pardubice because of a calf injury. The Puerto Rican point guard missed his club's weekend victory in the Turkish top flight and has spoken to the Primera Hora newspaper about his condition. "I have a slight fiber tear in my left calf but I'm okay," Arroyo said. "I've had an MRI and the doctor recommended me to completely rest for five to six days and have intensive therapy. "That is why I didn't play in the last game (on Saturday) and I will miss our next game." Arroyo also denied speculation that he missed Saturday's game because of a conflict with his coaches. "The rumors are false that I have problems here (in Turkey)," he said. "I get on very well with the coach (Ergin Ataman) and I have been paid very well here and on time. "The reason why I have not played is the injury." Besiktas fell at Fuenlabrada last week, 72-70 - their first defeat in the EuroChallenge. |
