German club Mitteldeutscher BC are the 2004 FIBA Europe Cup Champions after their 84:68 victory French outfit Dijon in Izmir, Turkey.
Unlike the Conference Final in Izmir 4 weeks ago, there were no last second heroics from Tuborg this evening as SAOS JDA Dijon advanced to the Pan-European Final following an end-of-game gamble from the home club which didn’t pay off.
The FIBA Europe Cup reaches its climax this weekend in Izmir, Turkey as Dynamo Moscow Region (RUS), Mitteldeutscher BC (GER), JDA Dijon (FRA) and home side Tuborg Izmir (TUR) will all battle for the trophy.
The competition began with all participating clubs split into 4 conferences, North, West, Central and South. After the preliminary round and play-offs, final fours were held in each conference. Dynamo were champions in Conference North, Mitteldeutscher in the Central, Dijon in West and Tuborg in South.
Conference play has now finished in the FIBA Europe Cup Men and the line-ups for the Pan European final four is complete.
