Taranto Battling Through Adversity

Cras Basket Taranto are not in the best of shape right now but coach Roberto Ricchini remains confident the team will be a force when they take on ZVVZ USK Prague in the Eighth-Final play-offs.

Elodie Godin is having to cope with a right arm injury while Angela Gianolla, Sara Giauro and Jami Montagnino have had the flu.

The four players were in action at Priolo over the weekend and helped Cras Basket Taranto win, 73-64.

"It has been a challenge that we have had to deal with in an emergency (situation)," Ricchini said.

"The success in Priolo was an important answer after a difficult day."

One player that was not available, however, was Michelle Greco.

She is out of action with a thigh injury.

"We want to recover her for the game against Prague in the Last 16," Ricchini said.

Taranto begin their play-off campaign at home against the Czech giants on Tuesday.

Horti In Talks With Sopron

Dora Horti is in negotiations with MKB Euroleasing Sopron about a possible return to the Hungarian club.

10. Dóra Horti (MKB Euroleasing)
Dóra Horti joined Lotos Gdynia in the summer but her first appearance this season might be in the same shirt she wore last year

The 1.93m center, a member of the Sopron squad that reached the 2009 Final Four, averaged 9.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for Sopron in the EuroLeague Women last season.

Horti, 23, decided to join Lotos Gdynia in May but a shoulder operation in September prevented her from making any appearances with the club.

Sopron have confirmed that they have been in talks with the player. The club is in dire need of a spark.

It had a solid start to the EuroLeague Women season but slipped to fourth in Qualifying Round Group C after losing four straight games, including an 81-78 defeat at Gospic Croatia last week.

Their cause hasn't been helped by the transfer of their best player, Angel McCoughtry, to Fenerbahce at the beginning of the month.

MKB Euroleasing told Basketball World News they have registered Horti for the EuroLeague Women but explained that she must formally break her contract with Lotos Gdynia before putting pen to paper on a deal with the Sopron club.

Langhorne Tweets About Return To EuroLeague Women

There have been a lot of comings and goings at EuroLeague Women clubs the past couple of weeks and that looks set to continue with American Crystal Langhorne apparently on her way to the competition in time for the play-offs.

Good Angels Kosice, judging from a Langhorne tweet, would seem to be her destination.

The club has yet to make an announcement, but the 1.89m center tweeted: "Yea ill be heading to slovakia for a few weeks for euroleague playoffs....pretty sudden but ill be back in a flash."

Good Angels, who face Bourges in the Eighth-Finals, have yet to make an announcement about Langhorne.

In eight games with UMMC Ekaterinburg before the winter break, the 24-year-old Langhorne averaged 12.4 points and 4.8 rebounds.

The return of USA internationals Candace Parker and Cappie Pondexter meant there was no space on the UMMC roster for Langhorne.
