MKB Storm To Victory Over Wisla In Second Half

27 January 2009

MKB Euroleasing Sopron have the upper hand in their EuroLeague Women play-off showdown with Wisla Can-Pack Krakow after cruising in the second half to an 81-58 victory in Hungary.

Serbian sensation Jelena Milovanovic tore apart Wisla with 23 points and seven rebounds.

Wisla will now try to force a third game when the teams meet on Friday in Poland.

The Polish team was right where it wanted to be early in the second half after a Candace Dupree lay-up cut MKB's advantage to 39-38.

But MKB then turned their game up a notch and pulled away.

With less than a minute remaining in the frame, MKB's lead had ballooned to 62-44.

In the third quarter alone when they put the result beyond doubt, Milovanovic had 10 of her points.

Kathleen MacLeod scored 17 and Tijana Krivacevic finished with 14 and had seven rebounds for MKB.

Amber Holt also had a game-high eight boards to go with her five points for the winners.

Wisla got 12 points apiece from Slobodanka Maksimovic and Ewelina Kobryn, while Dupree finished with 10.
