MKB Euroleasing Sopron held their nerve and beat Wisla Can-Pack Krakow 79-70 in the deciding third game of their EuroLeague Women Eighth-Finals play-off tie.
Australian Kathleen MacLeod hit the go-ahead basket with 2:41 remaining on Wednesday night for a 67-66 lead and after Candace Dupree missed a jump shot for Wisla, Jelena Milovanovic's lay-up left the home side on top at 69-66.
Coming out of a Wisla time-out, Ewelina Kobryn scored down low for the visitors to make it a one-point game only for Milovanovic, one of the players expected to represent Serbia at this year's EuroBasket Women in Latvia, answered with another lay-up just 1:26 from the end.
Dupree was off target with a jump shot on Wisla's next possession and MKB fouled Milovanovic who sank both attempts for a 73-68 lead.
Skerovic gave the Polish outfit hope with a lay-up to reduce the arrears to three but again Wisla fouled and Dóra Horti drilled both attempts from the stripe.
Following a missed three-ball attempt from Wisla's Marta Fernandez, the visitors put Amber Holt on the line and she made both free throws before Horti completed the scoring with a lay-up.
Horti and Holt each scored 16 points while Milovanovic contributed 15.
For Wisla, Dupree poured in a game-high 24.
Wisla missed all nine of their attempts from behind the arc.
