MKB Euroleasing coach Norbert Székely knows his team will have to overcome a big loss as they go after success this season in Hungary and the EuroLeague Women.
Point guard Barbara Semsei went down with a knee injury while playing for Hungary against Romania in a EuroBasket Women qualifying game on August 23 and was lost for the entire campaign.
"It was a very regrettable injury for the team because we lost one of our most important players for this season," Székely said.
"Barbi gained a lot of experience in the EuroLeague last year and also became an important player in the national team.
"We have found her replacement, Kinga Hadarics, who works well, and we can use her on the court, but we also know that we can't expect the same from her as from Barbi at the point guard position."
Semsei, 22, averaged 20.6 minutes per game in the EuroLeague Women last season for MKB Euroleasing, who advanced to the play-offs but lost in two games to Bourges.
Hadarics, a 28-year-old Hungarian, averaged 12 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season for the Flying Foxes Vienna in the EuroCup Women.
