Fenerbahce`s Cappie Pondexter put in an inspired performance but saw her side slip to a 89-79 defeat to MKB Euroleasing in Group A of the EuroLeague Women.
The 24-year-old point guard weighed in with 29 points for the Turkish side but MKB`s all-round contribution was enough to give them victory.
MKB had a narrow 19-18 lead at the end of the first quarter after strong showings from Barbara Semsei and Bernadett Nemeth.
Despite Pondexter`s consistent scoring MKB pulled away and by half-time had a 45-36 lead thanks to the influential Jelena Milovanovic, who would finish MKB`s joint top scorer in the match with 16 points.
MKB had extended their advantage to 14 points by the end of the third quarter to take a 69-55 lead with Nemeth, who would finish with 13 points and eight assists, the potent threat.
Fenerbahce reduced the deficit in the final quarter as Pondexter and Tammy Sutton-Brown led a late charge but the Hungarian side held on.
