Matovic Opts for Sopron

06 July 2004

Hungarian side Sopron continue to be active in the off-season, adding Serb & Montenegrin center Ivana Matovic to their roster.

Matovic will team up with additional recent signing Lucie Blahuskova, to form the core of the team's front-court in the upcoming season.

Matovic joins Sopron from Czech side USK Blex Praha. She averaged 11.4 ppg and 6.9 rpg for Praha in the 2003/2004 EuroLeague Women. The 21-year old also made her debut with her national team at the 2003 European Championships.

She logged minutes in all of Serbia & Montenegro's 8 games and helped her side to an 8th place finish in the championship.
