The 21-year old Serb and Montenegrin player has only been a part of the Lemesos side for 3 games, but in that time he has established himself as an integral part of one the hottest team’s in the competition.
His arrival at the club coincides with a win streak that has seen them victorious in their last 5 games, 3 of which came against teams above them in the rankings, namely BC Khimki, Hemofarm Vrsac and of course Anwil Wloclawek.
Aleksic showed just how valuable he is on Tuesday night as he exploded for 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals against Group B leaders Wloclawek. In his 3 games, he has hit a remarkable 20/28 2-point shots, and 9/10 against Wloclawek.
Lemesos as a whole had a hot shooting night against the Polish champions, missing just 4 of 13 in the first half. They eventually won 54:68.
The victory puts the Cypriots into 4th place in the Group B standings with a 5/4 record. A spot in the play-offs is not yet asssured, but Lemesos have proved that they are currently the team to beat in the group, and with the adittion of players like Aleksic, the FEL post season now seems a very realistic goal.
