Fenerbahce survived a 40-point explosion from Keravnos Keo forward George Banks to win a close contest in the 3rd place game of the FIBA Europe Cup Men Conference South Final Four.
Banks scored 29 of his points in the first half alone as the Cypriot side kept Fenerbahce well under their control throughout the first 3 periods.
FYROM team Rabotnicki booked their ticket into the final of the Conference South final four with a win over Cypriot side Keravnos Keo.
A 14:2 run in the fourth quarter broke the game open after Rabotnicki had led for most of the second half, but couldn’t shake off the Cypriots. The first half was close and after 2 quarters the teams were tied at 42:42.
Following the end of the Conference Play-Offs which finished last week, FIBA Europe is pleased to announce the host cities for the Final Four in all four FIBA Europe Cup Men Conferences.
Mitteldeutscher BC became the first team in the FIBA Europe Cup Men to make it to a Conference Final Four this season, following their 2:0 play-off sweep of Croatian side Hiron Zagreb.
Hiron granted Mitteldeutscher the homecourt advantage and both games were played on back-to-back in Weissenfels. The German side, which is led by former national team coach Henrik Dettmann, scored an easy 92:53 victory over Hiron in the first game. They retained the momentum in the second match-up, winning comfortably, 67:91.
