Panionios Find A Way Through

Panionios took full advantage of a loss for Lokomotiv Rostov as they beat Spirou Basket 80-68 to sneak into the quarter-finals of the EuroCup.

Lokomotiv's loss to Turk Telekom earlier on Tuesday opened the door for Panionios to catch the Russian side in the standings, and having achieved that,they progress having beaten Lokomotiv twice during Group K action.


Charleroi Fail To Knock Lokomotiv Off The Rails // 13 February 2007 Spirou Charleroi led early on and battled until the end at Lokomotiv Rostov but the Russian team came back from a first-quarter deficit to post a 75-66 triumph. Lokomotiv, with the success, improved to 3-2 in Group K and hit the inside track for a quarter-final place in the EuroCup while Charleroi slumped to 1-4 and saw their hopes of reaching the last eight die.

The American center was in fine all-round form scoring a game-high 23 points and dishing out six assists to guide the Turkish team to what turned out to be a comfortable victory.
