Gintare Petronyte's jaw-dropping night of 37 points and 24 rebounds led strugglers Lithuania past the Czech Republic, 77-68 Thursday night at the UMCOR U18 European Championship Women in Novi Sad.
Petronyte was a one-woman wrecking crew.
She finished nine of 10 from the floor (90%) and 17 of 22 (77.2%) at the free throw line.
The Czechs were in the game for 29 minutes before Lithuania, sparked by the unstoppable Petronyte, went on a 19-4 run bridging the third and fourth quarters to take a commanding 72-58 lead.
"This was a very important game for us," said Petronyte.
"Having only won one game before this one, we really wanted this win.
"I am very happy for my team, we played against a very difficult opponent and it wasn't easy."
Lithuania outrebounded Czech Republic 60-47.
The Czechs were two of 16 (12.5%) from beyond the arc.
