Lithuania: Lietuvos Telekomas Find Their Rhythm

Phard Napoli gave Lietuvos Telekomas a good run for their money but ultimately succumbed to a 62-52 defeat to crash out of the EuroLeague Women.

Katie Douglas (Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius)
Katie Douglas
Katie Douglas went into the game as the competition's leading scorer and once again proved to be the star for the Lithuanians as she was the only Lietuvos player to score more than 10 points.

The American scored 18 of her 23 points in the second half to keep the visitors in front and improve her average to 20.8 points, as well as grabbing eight rebounds.

The Italians began brightly with Dutch center Marlous Nieuwveen scoring six of her 14 points as they led by five in the first quarter.

Three-pointers from Manuela Diamanti and then Immacolata Gentile twice restored the five-point gap in the second but the visitors fought back, with Douglas' trey capping a 15-6 surge that saw them go ahead by the half.

Mery Andrade (Phard Napoli)
Mery Andrade
Mery Andrade's lay-up put Napoli up with 6:07 left in the third, but Napoli sent Douglas to the charity stripe three times in the final minute and she nailed all six efforts for Lietuvos to lead 46-37 going into the fourth.

Douglas landed another three-pointer to stretch the gap to 12, and although Napoli cut the deficit to three with 3:34 on the clock, Ieva Kublina's trey helped the Lithuanians keep their noses in front.

Nieuwveen also claimed nine boards, as did Andrade. The Portuguese finished with eight points, while American forward Victoria Bullett had 14.

Kublina provided 10 points for the victors.
