Douglas Leads All Star Vote

Voting for the EuroLeague Women All Star Game has now come to a close.

40,000 votes were cast for the game which will take place on Wednesday 8th March 2006 in Pecs, Hungary.

The format of the game will be Europe vs. Rest of the World. The top ten vote getters per team will be selected for the game, along with 4 wildcards to be selected by FIBA Europe.

Lietuvos Telekomas forward Katie Douglas was the top vote-getter among all players with 8,059. She has averaged 20.3 points per game to go along with 6.7 rebounds in EuroLegue Women action.

De Lisha Milton of Gambrinus Brno was second with 7,160 votes, while Yolanda Griffith of UMMC Ekaterinburg finished third with 6,173. 

MiZo Pecs' Dalma Ivanyi led all Europe players 6,969 votes, while Bourges' Laia Palau was second with 5,379 and Samara's Amaya Valdemoro third with 5,289.

FIBA Europe will be announcing the final rosters for the All-Star game on 3rd February 2006.
