Italian side Lavezzini Parma faced a tough challenge Tuesday night in the EuroLeague Women play-offs. If attempting to win in Brno was not difficult enough, Parma were without key peformers Federica Ciampoli, Anastasia Kostaki and Dubravka Dačič.
As expected, the task proved too tough for Parma and Brno dominated on both ends of the court from the opening tip.
Brno's superiority was such that after 5 minutes there was no argument who the winner would be. The home side led 21-1 and Parma needed nothing short of a miracle to get back into the contest.
To their credit, Parma stepped up in the second and third quarters and reduced the gap to 12 points at the 26 minute mark.
But Brno's dominance, especially on the boards where they outrebounded Parma 40-23, was too much and in the 4th quarter the home side sealed an emphatic win.
Taj McWilliams continues to be Brno's top player and she finished the game with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Zuzana Zirková added 17 points and forward Jana Vesela had 14.
