After missing out on the qualification round last summer with a back injury, Khomenchuk is likely to be back under the basket for Ukraine since she remains one of the most highly rated frontcourt players available. She has enjoyed some consistent and impressive performances during previous outings in a national team jersey, including a productive youth career. In recent times, she has showcased her abilities in Minsk by producing some excellent displays for Horizont and especially in EuroCup Women, where she averaged 10.3 rebounds-per-game in the competition. She showed she is a confident player too and able to do it against quality players, racking up a monstrous double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds against eventual finalists Kayseri Kaski spor. If she returns to the mix as anticipated, she could be a real force defensively, although by her own admission, she needs to prove her fitness and health during preparation first.
