Career: ZKK Medvescak (Croatia-A, 2001-04), Florida International (USA-NCAA 2005-08), Merkur Celje (Slovenia-A1, 2008-09), Szeviep Szeged (Hungary-A, 2009-10), Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 2010-11)
A talented point guard who is particularly good defensively, Iva Ciglar can also dictate the tempo and rhythm of a game and consequently is an important player on the roster for the National Team. While she often comes off the bench, she has played an integral part in helping the team secure their place. After starting her career in Croatia, she went to the NCAA for three years before signing with champions of Slovenia, Merkur Celje where she became an All Star of the Slovenian League. She then played in EuroLeague Women for Szeviep Szeged of Hungary and produced strong numbers before testing her skills in the Russian Superleague last season with Spartak St Petersburg. Iva had a strong youth career with Croatia and played throughout the various youth categories. |
