Maccabi Tblisi (Georgia-Superleague, 2005-08); Panathinaikos (Greece-ESAKE, 2008-10); Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia-SKL, 2010-11); Bennet Cantu (Italy-Lega, 2011-12); Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv (Israel-BSL, 2012-13); Olympiacos Piraeus (Greece-ESAKE, 2013)
Shermadini arrives to this EuroBasket with a big smile on his face and a gold medal around his neck. Not many players can claim to have won the Euroleague title with both Greek giants - Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, but while with the first he was still a young player learning the game from the bench, in the 2013 title-winning run with the Reds, Shermadini was an important piece of the puzzle. Without Pachulia the stage is set for Shermadini to take over as one of the leaders of the Georgian team. In 2011 he only played 15.3 minutes-a-night but this will change this time round with him set to play an extended role. Gio can be a force on both ends of the floor, and uses his great size to rebound and block shots, while his soft hands make him a threat from mid-range and a very efficient scorer.
