NEWS Nando De Colo (pictured) scored 18 points and dished out seven assists to help France to ninth place at the U20 European Championship Men with a 91-82 victory over Croatia.
Aaron Cel and Fabien Causeur each added 16 points for the French, who dropped to ninth after sixth-placed showings in 2005 and 2006.

Croatia rebounded from their embarrassing 18-point loss to Bulgaria to dominate Georgia 99-78 and finish Group F with a victory and a 1-4 record at the U20 European Championship Men. Ante Tomic collected 21 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots to lead six Croatians in double figure scoring one day after they lost 88-70 against the Bulgarians. |

Israel did not get a great game from their star Omri Casspi, but they were strong enough to overcome Georgia 81-74 on Sunday in Nova Gorica and keep alive their chances of reaching their third final in seven years. Casspi was held to just 14 points, but Yogev Ohayon paced the Israelis with 23 points and six assists and Elishay Kadir had 16 points and Tal Michael Dunne 15 as Yakov Gino's team improved to 2-1 in Group F. |
