An exciting prospect for the future, and possibly even this summer when she may squeeze onto the roster, 18-year-old Maryia Filonchyk is highly rated and could be capable of doing big things in a Belarus National Team vest in years to come. Certainly her record at youth level has been consistently impressive, averaging a near double-double at almost every tournament she plays. She has some nice moves down low and takes the ball strongly to the hoop. A prolific rebounder and capable scorer, she looks well equipped to have a bright future in the game. She certainly isn't afraid to drift out of the key and shoot the ball from distance either. This tournament could come too soon, but as a mere teenager time is definitely on her side to make the grade at the elite level.
